Defending Champion Davor Dadic in Contention with 14 Players Remaining

Apr 19, 2015

Nahum Lum leads the final 14 players in the World Poker Tour National Main Event in Johannesburg with 1,180,000 chips, but the other 13 are just as hungry to capture the tilte in this very prestigious event. Among those Davor Dadic, the defending champion of this event, with 810,000.

The second day of play started with 282 players, but that number was soon eclipsed as late entries were still allowed until the end of the first level. When the dust settled there were 325 total entries, creating a prize pool just shy of US $300,000.

There were tons of players not lucky enough to share in this giant prize pool, and among those top pros Vanessa Rousso and Jarred Solomon, but also top ranked South Africans Raymond Rahme, Ryan Dreyer and Greg Ronaldson. The only WPT Champions Club member on Day 2 was Daniel Brits. Brits took dow WPT Johannesburg back in 2013, but he did not manage to add another result at the Emperors Casino here today.

In total 36 players got paid, and Harold Brooks was the first player to collect $1,951. As it got later and later into the night play tightened up, WPT Alpha 8 Johannesburg participant Kinesh Pather busted in 17th place and in the end just 14 players managed to survive after 14 hours of play.
