Derek Palmer Doubles Thru Matt Kay

Aug 28, 2011

With the board showing [6c6d4d3h] on the turn and about 40,000 in the pot, Matt Kay bets 21,000 from the small blind, Derek Palmer raises from middle position to 48,000, and Kay reraises to 221,000 — enough to put Palmer all in.

Palmer quickly calls all in for 196,000 with [Ad6h] (trip sixes). Kay turns over [QdJd] for a diamond flush draw, and he’ll need a diamond that doesn’t pair the board to eliminate Palmer.

The river card is the [7c], and Palmer wins the pot with his trip sixes to double up in chips.

Derek Palmer  –  430,000  (53 BBs)
Matt Kay  –  440,000  (55 BBs)
