With the final board showing , Marc Olivier Carpentier (pictured) bets 160,000 from the big blind, leaving himself about 375,000 behind. Rainer Kempe moves all in from the button for about 900,000, and Carpentier goes into the tank for several minutes.
It’s a long tank, and eventually another player at the table calls for a clock. Shortly after that, Carpentier folds, and Kempe takes the pot.
Rainer Kempe – 1,230,000 (77 bb)
Marc-Olivier Carpentier – 375,000 (23 bb)
While Kempe is still holding onto his cards, Azim Popatia says, “Show a bluff! Show a bluff!” Kempe doesn’t show much of a reaction, and Popatia adds, “I’ll pay five dollars. Show a bluff and I’ll give the dealer five dollars. Do it for the dealer.” Carpentier still doesn’t react, but he doesn’t muck his cards either.
After a brief pause, Popatia says, “Ten bucks. Twenty. Fifty. Fifty dollars to the dealer.” A moment later, Kempe mucks without showing his cards, and Popatia says to the dealer, “Sorry, you could have made fifty bucks.”
