Dylan Desmarchelier Makes Another Great Hand to Stay Alive, But He Eventually Falls in 29th Place

One hand after winning a single chip (the one he started the hand with) with quad kings, Dylan Desmarchelier is once again forced all in for 5,000, this time from the small blind.

This time, Ali Ghezelbash raises UTG+1 to 50,000, and Jerry Zhiyu Wang calls from the button.

There is 40,000 in the main pot (the only pot Desmarchelier can win), and another 105,000 in the side pot.

The flop comes , Ghezelbash bets 30,000, and Yang calls.

The turn card is the , Ghezelbash bets 75,000, and Yang folds. Ghezelbash takes the side pot worth 165,000.

For the main pot, Desmarchelier proudly says, “I have a straight,” and shows for a ten-high straight. Ghezelbash turns over for a pair with an open-ended straight draw. As long as the river card isn’t a jack or a six, Desmarchelier will octuple his stack from 5K to 40K.

Even when he catches a short-stacked break, it’s undercut, and Desmarchelier chops the pot with Ghezelbash as they have identical jack-high straights. At least now Desmarchelier has a full big blind in his stack.

Desmarchelier managed to win one more pot to build his stack to a couple of big blinds, but he was unfortunately eliminated shortly after that.
