Edoardo Alescio has just thrown the poker form book out of the window and has won WPT Venice. He started this final table as the most inexperienced player, but has finished as a privileged member of the WPT Champions Club and earned himself €175,000 in the process.
The final hand was a flip with Edoardo Alescio holding [5c] [5s] and Steve O’Dwyer holding [Ac] [7s]. The board produced the ace that O’Dwyer was searching for but it also contained a nice, plump, juicy [5h]. It was all over by the turn and the young amateur poker player was crushed by a tidal wave of ecstatic supporters.
Commiserations to Steve O’Dwyer who really did look the most likely winner for large periods of this final table. We are sure we will see O’Dwyer at many more final tables in the future.
