Familiar Foes

In a remarkable coincidence, the final nine players here at the biggest WPT event in history also have a similar record to their credits in the WSOP.  Both Fred Goldberg and Doug Kim made deep runs in the 2006 WSOP Main Event, the largest WSOP Main Event in history.  Goldberg bubbled that final table, finishing in tenth, while Kim ended up in seventh place.

Kim draws attention to this fact when he tells Goldberg, "Hey Fred, you made the top ten in the largest WPT ever and the largest WSOP ever."

The accomplishment dawns on Goldberg and he replies, "Oh, that’s pretty great."

"Yeah, it’s crazy," Kim responds.

"Now you gotta do the EPT, so you can get the Triple Crown," Daniel Buzgon jokes.

The table jokes about Goldberg having to head to Europe and Goldberg tells Kim, "Hey, wherever you go, I’ll follow."
