The player under the gun limps in and action folds to Aaron "NDGrinder59" Steury in the small blind. Steury completes, Faraz Jaka checks his option in the big blind, and the three players see a flop of [Jc4s3h].
Steury leads out for 2,100 and Jaka raises to 5,100. The player under the gun calls and Steury calls as well. The turn brings the [9d] and Steury checks. Jaka moves all-in for 27,900 and the player under the gun thinks for a minute or two before calling. Steury mucks his hand and the other player turns up his [QhJh] for top pair, queen kicker.
Rather than turn up his hand, Jaka instead tosses it face down into the muck, conceding defeat. The other player rakes in the pot and the WPT Player of the Year frontrunner heads for the door.
Jaka may currently hold the lead in the Player of the Year race, but there are still four players in this field who have the potential to pass him: Todd Terry, Shawn Buchanan, Tyler Smith, and Gevork Kasabyan. If Terry finishes in 2nd place, he will be tied with Jaka in the points race, but he can take the lead in the standings with a win. Kasabyan and Buchanan, on the other hand, can only pass Jaka with a win, and Smith can only tie Jaka for the lead with a victory here in Indiana.
