First Hand: Michael Sortino Cracks Kings to Knock Out a Player

Jun 26, 2018

In the first hand of the day, Table 33 only had four players seated, when the player on the button raises to 300, Michael Sortino calls from the small blind, and the player in the big blind reraises to 1,300. The button calls, as does Sortino.

The flop comes X 9X 8X 3, Sortino checks, and the big blind bets 2,000. The button calls, as does Sortino.

The turn card pairs the board with another X 3, Sortino checks, and the big blind bets 5,000. The button folds, and Sortino check-raises all in for 16,600.

The button calls all in with an identical stack and shows X KX K for two pair, kings and threes. But Sortino turns over X 6X 3 for trip threes.

The river card is an X A, and Sortino wins the pot with his trip threes to eliminate his opponent and double up on the first hand of Day 1B.
