Five Bet Action: Denis Pisarev Doubles Up

Dec 4, 2011

Chris McClung raises to 20,000 in early position and Michael Watson three-bets to 50,000 from his direct left. A few folds later and Daniel Erlandssen is four-betting to 117,000 from the small blind. The sole person left in the hand is Denis Pisarev, in the big blind, who peeks at his cards before moving all-in for 160,000.

McClung asks for a count before folding and Watson also folds. This leaves an easy call for Erlandssen but he surprises everyone when he turns over [9h] [9s]. Pisarev turns over [Qc] [Qd] and wins the subsequent showdown with a board of [Kd] [Ts] [7s] [5h] [Ks].

What would Erlandssen done if the bigger stacks of McClung and Watson would have moved in on him?
