Floor Table 10!

Feb 20, 2013

The floor has just been called to table 10 after a misunderstanding resulted in Sebastian Garras exposing his hand while Ben Carpenter was considering his options.

The board reads [5d][9c][Ah][Tc][8c] and Carpenter has bet 2,400 from middle position. Garras then raises to 7,300 and Carpenter asks, “How much? Four-nine more?” before checking his hole cards. As Carpenter checks his holding, Garras inexplicably turns over the [Ad][7d]!

Carpenter, and the majority of the table for that matter, confirm that they heard Carpenter ask how much the bet was for but Garras is adamant Carpenter said he intended to fold. The floor is called and Carpenter asks if Garras’ hand is still live. Christian Scalzi rules that Garras’ hand is still live and Carpenter can act as he wishes.

“I’m all-in,” says Carpenter, which brings a huge sigh from Garras.

Garras folds and Carpenter shows the [6c][5c] for a flush.
