Omar Lakhdari had been winning pots steadily once heads-up play had been reached, with the tables turning and Lakhdari holding the chip lead.

Lakhdari limped and Francisco Lopes raised to 205,000. Lakhdari called and the flop came Club KHeart JHeart 3. Lopes check-called a bet of 250,000 and the turn was the Spade A

Both players checked and the river was the Spade 8.

Lopes checked and Lakhdari bet 450,000. “Value,” he said, watching his opponent reach a decision

Eventually, Lakhdari called for time. After a short while Lopes slid one chip forward to indicated a call. Lakhdari re-checked his hole cards and mucked. Lopes showed Spade JDiamond 10 for third pair and took down the pot.

Omar Lakhdari – 2,500,000
Francisco Lopes – 3,700,000
