It was long, it was exhaustive, it was typical heads-up play. But midway through the 31st level of this competition, Giacomo Fundaro finally broke out in a smile.
Brunet opens the button to 250,000, Fundaro moves all-in and Brunet makes the call. We have a showdown with Brunet at risk of elimination.
Showdown
Fundaro: [Ac] [3h]
Brunet: [Qh] [9h]
Board: [Ah] [5s] [4s] [7d] [7c]
The flop allowed Fundaro to breathe a little easier and by the time the turn came around Fundaro’s hands were outstretched in glory.
Commiserations to Brunet who so nearly won it earlier, when he was all-in AT versus 76, but we are sure we will see Frederic Brunet again.
