Griffin Paul limps for 400,000, Joe Ebanks raises to 1,500,000, and Paul quickly calls.
The flop comes KJ4, Ebanks bets 1,000,000, and Griffin Paul thinks for a bit before he moves all in.
Ebanks quickly calls all in for 8,475,000 with AJ for a pair of jacks, but Paul turns over K9for a pair of kings. Ebanks needs to improve to stay alive.
The turn card pairs the board with the 4, the river card is the 6, and Griffin Paul wins the pot — and the WPT title — with two pair, kings and fours.
Joe Ebanks finishes as the runner-up, earning $615,000.
Griffin Paul wins the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, earning $1,000,000. That amount includes his $15,400 entry into the season-ending WPT World Championship, which starts this weekend at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Paul also receives a pair of gold Monster 24K Headphones, a Hublot Oceanographic 4000 Watch, and a WPT Champions Trophy. Paul’s name will also be engraved on the one-and-only WPT Champions Cup, alongside all the other WPT champions from all 13 seasons.
