Hand #126: Double Elimination -- Botchis & Raposa Out!

Apr 7, 2009

Hand #126  –  Vadim Trincher raises under the gun to 60,000, William Botchis tanks in late position before he moves all in. Joe Raposa says "Oh no," and gets out of his seat in the cutoff. "Oh man." Raposa moves all in over the top of Botchis.

It’s folded back to Trincher, who insta-calls with [AdAs]. Raposa shows [JcJs], and Botchis shows [9c9d]. The two shorter stacks will need to improve, or they face a double-elimination on the TV bubble.

The board comes [8d7h5h2s7c], and Trincher wins the pot with his pocket aces.

William Botchis, as the short stack, is eliminated in seventh place, earning $68,235.

Joe Raposa is eliminated in sixth place, earning $85,292.

The remaining five players are guaranteed at least $106,007, and they’ll return tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 pm ET for the televised WPT Final Table. Stay tuned for official chip counts.
