Hand #149: Moritz Kranich Wins a 3.3 Million Pot Vs. Phil Ivey

Jul 16, 2010

Phil Ivey limps from the button for 200,000, and Moritz Kranich checks his option in the big blind. The flop comes [AcJc4h], Kranich checks, Ivey min-bets 200,000, and Kranich calls. The turn card pairs the board with the [Ad], Ivey bets 500,000, and Kranich calls.

The river card is the [3d], Ivey thinks for a while before he bets 700,000, and Kranich calls. Ivey shows J-9 for two pair (aces and jacks), but Kranich shows Q-J for the same two pair with a higher kicker to win the pot.

Moritz Kranich now has a huge chip lead, while Phil Ivey is crippled to just a handful of big blinds.
