Kathy Lehne raises to 30,000 from the button, Jason Mercier reraises to 80,000, and Lehne calls.
The flop comes Q5Q. Mercier checks, Lehne bets 75,000, and Mercier calls. The turn is the 7. Mercier checks once more, and this time Lehne checks as well.
The river is the 8. Mercier carves out a bet of 165,000, and Lehne spends some time counting out her chips before moving all in for 430,000. Mercier thinks for nearly a minute, then finally makes the call.
Lehne tables her hand — 108 — for queens and eights, and Mercier shows he has AA for the better two pair. Mercier wins the hand and a WPT Alpha8 title.
The first woman ever to play in an Alpha8, Kathy Lehne walks away with a $436,500 prize for finishing runner-up. Meanwhile Jason Mercier earns a nice $727,500 payday for the win.
