Kantor limps for 80,000, Hoyt says "All in," and Kantor quickly calls with [Kc10h]. Hoyt shows [Ah7c], and if it holds up, he’ll win the tournament right here.
The flop comes [Ac5s2c], and Hoyt takes a big lead with a pair of aces. The turn card is the [8c], and Kantor picks up a club flush draw. He’ll need a club to stay alive.
The river card is the [5h], and Hoyt Corkins wins the pot — and the tournament — with two pair, aces and fives.
Jonathan Kantor finishes as the runner-up in second place, earning $366,643.
Hoyt Corkins wins the WPT Southern Poker Championship at the Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, earning $739,486, a WPT bracelet, and a Beau Rivage bracelet. That prize also includes a $25,500 entry into the WPT World Championship at Bellagio in April.
Congratulations to Hoyt Corkins for winning his second World Poker Tour title! Hoyt previously won the WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic back in Season II (2003).
