Hand #28 – Barry Leventhal raises under the gun to 130,000, Aaron Mermelstein reraises from middle position to 300,000, and Leventhal calls.
The flop comes Q76, Leventhal checks, Mermelstein bets 260,000, and Leventhal calls, saying, “This is for the last-longer.”
Leventhal is referring to the Skrill Last-Longer Contest, which is down to just these two players. The contest started with 119 entrants, and the last survivor will win back their buy-in — $3,500.
The turn card is the 8, and both players check.
The river card is the Q, Leventhal checks, Mermelstein bets 500,000, and Leventhal tanks for a while before he calls. Mermelstein shows AA to win the pot with two pair, aces and queens, and Leventhal mucks.
Pot Size – 2,310,000
Aaron Mermelstein – 4,580,000 (76 bb)
Barry Leventhal – 1,130,000 (18 bb)
