Hand #79: Joshua Kay opens to 425,000 in the hijack and action folds to Jeremy Ausmus (pictured) in the small blind, who looks down at his cards and postures for a moment after doing so. He then gathers his chips and puts them forward onto the felt, announcing he is all in.
Kay calls, showing and apologizing in advance if he knocks out Ausmus. Ausmus does not hear the first part and asks Kay if he has called or folded.
“I call,” confirms Kay. “I was just saying I am sorry if I knock you out with this,” he adds.
“It’s all right,” responds Ausmus, showing .
The flop then comes to give Kay a pair of fives and leave Ausmus in need of help to stay alive. He picks up an open-ended straight draw on the turn , but the river gives Kay a straight despite improving Ausmus to a pair of sixes. The pot is shipped to Kay, and Ausmus is eliminated in 7th place to mark the end of Day 4 with 80:00 remaining in Level 30 (100K-200K, 200K ante).
The final six players will reutrn Wednesday at 2 p.m. (ET) to play down to a winner. A recap of the day’s action will be posted shortly.
