Hands #16-17: Chris Bjorin Doubles Through Aaron Jones

Oct 25, 2009

Hand #16  –  Jason Burt raises from middle position to 105,000, and Richard Sciuto calls from the big blind. The flop comes [Qs6s3c], Sciuto checks, Burt bets 120,000, and Sciuto calls. The turn card is the [Ad], Sciuto checks, Burt moves all in, and Sciuto tanks for a few minutes before he folds. Jason Burt takes the pot.

Jason Burt  –  2 million
Richard Sciuto  –  450,000

Hand #17  –  Freddy Deeb raises from middle position to 95,000, Tommy Vedes calls from late position, Chris Bjorin moves all in from the cutoff, and Aaron Jones moves all in from the button. Deeb and Vedes both fold, with Vedes showing [Qc9c].

Jones shows [AhQd], and he’s a dominant favorite over Bjorin’s [QdJh]. Bjorin needs to improve to stay alive.

The board comes [10h8s6c9s7s], putting a ten-high straight on the board, and one of the players says, "Chop it up!" But Bjorin taps his jack, and the dealer correctly calls out that Bjorin wins the pot with a jack-high straight to double up.

Chris Bjorin  –  975,000
Aaron Jones  –  610,000
