Hands #17-18: Chris Vandeursen Doubles Thru Robert Pyne

Aug 14, 2012

Hand #17  –  Joey Couden raises from the hijack to 55,000, winning the blinds and antes.

Hand #18  –  Chris Vandeursen raises from middle position to 50,000, and Robert Pyne calls right behind him. The flop comes [Ad10h7c], Vandeursen checks, Pyne bets 73,000, and Vandeursen check-raises to 200,000. Pyne calls.

The turn is the [9c], Vandeursen moves all in for 391,000, and Pyne calls with [As9d] (two pair, aces and nines). But Vandeursen turns over [10c10s] for a set of tens.

The river pairs the board with the [9h], giving both players full houses. But Vandeursen’s tens full of aces beats Pyne’s nines full of aces, and Vandeursen doubles up in chips.

Chris Vandeursen  –  1,345,000  (56 bb)
Robert Pyne  –  652,000  (27 bb)
