Hands #4-9: Jean-Pierre Sevigny Doubles Thru Jerry Payne

Hand #4  –  Joe Kuether raises from middle position to 110,000, and Andjelko Andrejevic calls from the hijack. The flop comes Spade QHeart 8Club 8, Kuether checks, Andrejevic bets 100,000, and Kuether calls. The turn is the Club 2, Kuether checks, Andrejevic bets 175,000, and Kuether calls. The river is the Club Q, and both players check. Kuether shows Spade ADiamond Q to win the pot with trip queens, and Andrejevic mucks.

Hand #5  –  Roman Valerstein raises under the gun to 125,000, taking the blinds and antes.

Hand #6  –  David Paredes raises from the small blind to 125,000, taking the blinds and antes.

Hand #7  –  Jean Gaspard raises from middle position to 125,000, Roman Valerstein calls from the small blind, and Joe Kuether calls from the big blind. The flop comes Spade 9Heart 9Club 5, and it checks to Gaspard, who bets 250,000. Valerstein and Kuether both fold, and Gaspard takes the pot.

Hand #8  –  Joe Kuether raises from the small blind to 125,000, taking the blinds and antes.

Hand #9  –  Jean-Pierre Sevigny raises from middle position to 120,000, Roman Valerstein reraises from the cutoff to 275,000, and Jerry Payne moves all in from the small blind for 715,000. Sevigny calls, and Valerstein folds.

Payne turns over Spade JClub J, and he needs to improve to stay alive against the Spade AClub A of Sevigny.

The board comes Diamond 8Heart 6Spade 5Diamond JClub 8, and Payne turns a set of jacks and rivers a full house to win the pot and double up in chips.
