Hand #48 – Daniel Gagne raises from the button to 275,000, Sylvain Siebert moves all in from the big blind, and Gagne folds. Siebert takes the pot.
Hand #49 – Alexander Wong min-raises from the hijack to 240,000, Sylvain Siebert (pictured above) reraises from the small blind to 660,000, and Wong reraises enough to put Siebert all in or nearly all in. Siebert either moves all in or calls all in, but either way, they are both all in.
Siebert turns over [Ks7s], but he needs to improve to survive against Wong’s [JdJs].
The flop comes [Jc7d7h], giving Siebert trips to Wong’s full house, but Siebert still has outs — he can catch the case seven to make quads.
The turn is the [Kc], giving Siebert additional outs to a higher full house if he can catch a king.
The river card is the [6d], and Wong wins the pot with jacks full of sevens to eliminate Siebert in eighth place.
Alexander Wong – ~7,000,000 (58 bb)
Sylvain Siebert – Out in 8th Place (CAD $23,863)
This caps off an impressive run for Siebert in WPT events held at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal. There have been four WPT events held here, and amazingly, Siebert has final tabled three of them, finishing 8th, 5th, and 4th.
