James Obst
With more than $4 million in cashes on the live poker circuit, James Obst is one of the most accomplished poker players in Australia and he showcases his talents once more on home soil. The Aussie, who won his second WSOP gold bracelet earlier this year, leads the final 16 players at The Star Gold Coast after Day 3 with 3,450,000 in chips.
Obst was responsible for the elimination of Daniel Neilson to conclude the action for the day and has already established a gap to second-placed Matthew Wakeman (2,395,000) as well as Yuanting Wang (2,025,000) in third place.
Other notables still in contention include Travis Endersby (1,700,000), Malcolm Trayner (1,595,000) and Van Marcus (840,000). Last year’s finalist Romain Morvan remains in the mix to reach back-to-back final tables. He will return for Day 4 as one of the shorter stacks with 730,000.
