Jared Jaffee Catches Runner-Runner to Double Through Charlie Hook

Aug 23, 2010

After a flop of [AdKs10h], Charlie Hook checks the small blind, Jared Jaffee bets 32,000 from the button, and Hook check-raises to 100,000.

Jaffee moves all in, and Hook calls with [QdJd] for a flopped ace-high straight (Broadway). Jaffee turns over [Ah6h], and he’ll need to catch something runner-runner to stay alive.

The turn card pairs the board with the [10s], and the river card trips the board with the [10d] — giving Jaffee a full house (tens full of aces). Hook is stunned as he loses a huge pot to double up Jared Jaffee.

Jared Jaffee  –  645,000  (80 bb)
Charlie Hook  –  330,000  (41 bb)
