After a flop of [Qd9h3c], Jason Koon checks the big blind, and chipleader Cyrus Farzad checks from the hijack.
The turn is the [10d], Koon bets 47,000, Farzad raises to 200,000, and Koon calls.
The river is the [8d], and both players check. Koon shows [KhQh] for a pair of queens, but Farzad turns over [9c9s] to win the pot with a set of nines.
Cyrus Farzad – 3,650,000 (228 bb)
Jason Koon – 560,000 (35 bb)
As Farzad stacks the pot, Koon says, "Every showdown we go to, you show a set or better." Koon then speaks directly to Farzad across the table, saying, "If you bet the flop, I go broke. That’s how good I’m running."
Jason Koon described the hand on Twitter:
Defended KQhh from bb v Aggro player flop K93h plan to c/r play for stacks. He checked back with 99. I’m still here.
