Jimmy Poper's Bluff Doesn't Get Through, But Keeps Chip Lead As First Break Approaches

Feb 26, 2017

It’s a battle of the blinds between the small blind and Jimmy Poper in the big blind. On the turn with the board reading Diamond ADiamond 6Spade 2Spade J, the small blind leads out for 30,000 and Poper calls.

There is about 100,000 in the pot heading to the river, which is the Heart 9. The small blind checks and Poper bets 44,000. The small blind quickly calls.

Poper shows Td8d, giving him a missed flush draw, and the small blind tables Club AHeart 6 to win the pot. Poper loses the pot, but is still the chip leader with the first break of the day nearing.

Jimmy Poper – 900,000
