Hand #167: Tan Nguyen raises to 300,000 from the button before Josh Adkins three-bets the big blind to 1,300,000. Nguyen thinks for a few moments, and then moves all in for 4,145,000. Adkins quickly calls and immediately jumps to his feet as the cards are tabled.

Nguyen:
In a clash of Big Slick versus Mrs Slick, Nguyen would be at risk but holding the advantage in the hand.
The dealer spreads the flop, and Adkins is thrust into the lead with top pair. Nguyen now trails and would need to find a king, a ten, or running clubs to stay alive. Adkins walks over to his rail and begins pacing back-and-forth as he awaits the outcome of the turn and river.
The on the turn sees Nguyen lose his backdoor flush outs but he remains seated and looking calm and patient as he awaits the fate the river card brings.
The on the river completes the board and Nguyen is eliminated in second place for a $210,988 payday.
“Let’s go,” Adkins screams as he pumps his fists and is embraced by his rail with hugs and high fives before he returns to the final table to shake hands with Nguyen.
Josh Adkins wins the Season XVIII bestbet Bounty Scramble for $331,480, along with the $15,000 entry into the season-ending Tournament of Champions.
