Kataneh Hamidi Eliminated by Chipleader Tim "BegsClutch" Begley

Feb 28, 2010

After a flop of [8d5d5c] with nearly 100,000 already in the pot, Tim Begley has bet (or raised?) 20,500 from middle position, and Kataneh Hamidi (one of nine remaining women in the field) has called from the cutoff. Shawn Buchanan tanks from the big blind for a few minutes (extending into the break) before he folds.

Buchanan sticks around to watch the end of the hand, and a big crowd begins to gather with him.

The turn card is the [10s], and Begley and Hamidi both check.

The river card is the [7c], and Begley moves all in, easily covering Hamidi who has about 88,000 left behind. The crowd has grown enough to completely surround the table, and Hamidi tanks.

After several minutes, Hamidi says, "I call," and Begley immediately shows [8c8h] for a flopped full house, eights full of fives. Hamidi mucks her cards, eliminated from the tournament.

Shawn Buchanan breathes a sigh of relief, saying he folded pocket queens on the flop.
