Chris Lastiwka looked like he was going to have a decent WPT Marrakech until it all went wrong for the young Canadian. He was our chip leader for a short period of time before eventually crashing out just prior to the money. Lastiwka is on an extended tour of Europe and he is here at Prague, we just caught him hauling in a nice pot.
We caught the action on a flop of [As] [Kd] [2s] with 9,500 in the pot. A little bit of investigation work tell us that Lastiwka raised in the hijack, the player in the cutoff three-bet, Stephane Benadiba cold-called in the big blind, Lastiwka four-bet, the original three-bettor folded and Benadiba called (deep breath!).
So back to the flop and Benadiba checks to Lastiwka who bets 4,300. Action falls back to the Frenchman and he check-raises to 9,800. Lastiwka now has the decision and he once again cranks up the pressure with a raise to 19,300 and Benadiba calls.
This pot was getting juicy and someone was going to end up all-in. We see the turn of [Qs] and after Benadiba checks, Lastiwka moves all-in and Benadiba tank-folds.
Lastiwka – 56,000
Benadiba – 20,000
