Legend of Chipleader Lazaro Hernandez Continues

Some of the details of this hand were relayed to us by Patrick Eskandar, seated at the same table.

With the blinds at 4,000-8,000, preflop action folds to Lazaro Hernandez on the button, and he verbalized a raise, but to an amount that was too low (like 10,000). It wasn’t enough to force a min-raise, but since "raise" was the first word out of Hernandez’s mouth, it’s ruled that the raise is binding, and he must put out a min-raise to 16,000.

The small blind folds, and Mitchell Nong moves all in for about 400,000.

Hernandez snap-calls with [8d8s], and Nong is caught bluffing with [8c6s]. Nong is dominated as he faces elimination.

The board comes [KdJc3cAd7c], and Nong never even picks up any outs. Hernandez wins the pot with pocket eights to eliminate Nong in 93rd place.

Lazaro Hernandez  –  1,800,000
Mitchell Nong  –  Out in 93rd Place  ($7,052)

Hernandez, who has been steadily winning big pots since Day 1, says, "The legend continues."

After a brief pause, he adds, "Oh man, don’t want to jinx myself."
