The Dutch World Series of Poker bracelet winner, Marcel Vonk, has been eliminated holding pocket aces. That sort of thing happens from time to time, when you raise and get five callers.
The flop was Jx 3x 2x (with two hearts). One of the five callers took the betting lead, and there were two callers, including Vonk. The turn was the 4 and the flop-leader bet for a second time; his two opponents both called. We don’t know what the river card was, but the aggressor shoved, the first flatter folded, and Vonk made the call. Vonk figured his opponent had missed his flush draw. He had. But he had also picked up a straight on the turn to win the pot and eliminate a difficult opponent.
