With around 12,000 chips in the pot and the board reading [QsJd9h9d], the player in the small blind checks and Marco Traniello moves all-in for 14,100. Annette Obrestad is in late position and calls.
The player in the small blind thinks Obrestad might be up to something. "Why didn’t you raise?"
"Maybe I wanted you to call," she responds.
"We’ll find out won’t we," the player says as he mucks his hand. Traniello shows [AdJh] for a pair of jacks and Obrestad reveals [KsQh] for a pair of queens. A king on the river improves Obrestad to two pair and sends Traniello to the rail.
"I’ve never in my life seen anything like this," Chad Batista remarks, referencing Obrestad’s Day 2 domination at the tables.
Obrestad is putting some distance between her and fellow big stack Matt Affleck. She is now past the 500,000 chip mark.
Annette Obrestad – 575,000
