Mark Provencher Eliminated by Christian Harder

Nov 7, 2009

After some preflop action, Mark Provencher moves all in from the small blind with a relatively short stack, and both Christian Harder (cutoff) and Adam Gerber (button) call. Provencher says, "I’m hoping you guys have the same hand."

The flop comes [KcKs9s], and Provencher gets up to start gathering his things as if he anticipates his own elimination. Harder and Gerber both check.

The turn card is the [6h], Harder bets 20,200, and Gerber folds. Harder shows [Kh9h] for a flopped full house, and Provencher turns over [KdQd] — trip kings. Provencher was misdirecting weakness when he was strong, but not strong enough. He needs a queen on the river to stay alive.

The river card is the [8s], and Christian Harder wins the pot with his flopped full house. Mark Provencher is eliminated from the tournament.

As Harder pulls in the chips, Todd Terry asks, "How many times have you flopped the nuts today?" Harder smiles and shrugs, and Adam "Roothlus" Levy says, "I’ve been here an hour and that’s twice now."

The next hand, Harder raises from late position to 10,300, and Gerber moves all in for 91,600. Harder folds, and Gerber gets a few of his chips back.
