The last two bounties have hit the rail at the WPT best Bounty Scramble with WPT Champions Club member Marvin Rettenmaier taking home the trophy and a bottle of Dom Perignon.
Rettenmaier earned the title when Jessica Dawley busted early in the day after getting all her chips in with pocket Kings. When Bill Thompson caught an Ace on the turn, his ended her tournament and an attempt at three straight last bounty standing titles. She finished 20th for $14,001.
“I’ve busted this tournament twice now with pocket Kings,” she said after the hand.
Last year, Dawley lost with K-K versus A-Q. She now has finished 20th, 29th, and 11th in this event over the last three years for a total of $48,825.
Just after she was eliminated, Rettenmaier was also sent to the exit but not before snagging his trophy and Dom Perignon. He finished 17th for $14,001 after his was topped by Dana Cowles’ .
Rettenmaier, who has more than $7.1 million in live tournament winnings, joined the WPT Champions Club in Season X when he won the WPT World Championship for $1.2 million. He added his second title the following season at the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic for $287,784.
While he may have not added a third title, Rettenmaier should be able to enjoy a nice glass of champagne.
