Matt Juttelstad Thinks He Is Value Betting

Apr 28, 2012

Matt Juttelstad, Mike Scarborough and Danny Shiff are involved in a pot with around 10,000 already in it and the board reading [KdJh5d9h3c]. Scarborough is in the small blind and checks. Juttlestad is in the bigblind and bets 8,700.  Shiff is on the button and thinks a minute or so before calling.

Even facing a bet and a call, Scarborough still has a decision to make and he tanks for over a minute trying to figur eout what to do. Eventually Scarborough calls.

"King-five," Juttelstad declares as he turns over [Kc5c] for two pair. Scarborough emphatically slams down his [Ks9c] for a bigger two pair. Shiff mucks his hand but later claims he had jack-nine for two pair as well.

"I thought I was value betting, but I guess not," Juttelstad says. The table chats about the hand a little before he adds, "Once he was thinkg," gesturing towards Scarborough, "it occurred to me I no longer had the best hand."

Mike Scarborough – 123,000
Matt Juttelstad – 20,000
