In middle position, Mike Gracz opens to 19,000, and David Diaz three-bets to 50,000 on the button. When it folds back to Gracz, he makes a big four-bet to 170,000. The reraise represents close to half his remaining stack.
Diaz spends several long minutes in the tank before announcing, "All in." Gracz calls without delay, showing [KsKd]. Diaz tables [QsQd].
The [JsTc7h] flop is pretty clean for Gracz’s overpair, but the [Qc] smashes the turn to pull Diaz in front. Neither player, nor anyone at the table, reacts much to the turn card, nor immediately to the river [9c].
That nine is a life saver for Gracz, improving him to the king-high straight and securing his double up. Finally, a few seconds after the hand is complete, Gracz lets out a big sigh. "Sick runout," he says.
The dealer counts Gracz down at 392,000, so the double vaults him up to 805,000, knocking Diaz down to 327,000 in the process.
