Nearly 5% of Today's Field is Women

With 186 players starting today, there were nine women in the field (4.8%). This is a little higher than we’ve recorded in recent years, but of course we won’t know the actual percentage of the field until we get a count from Day 1b tomorrow.

Notable women playing today include Maria Ho, Lauren Kling, Kristy Gazes, Thuy Doan, Melanie Weisner, and the last woman standing from the 2010 WSOP Main Event, Breeze Zuckerman.
