– Another fun pairing has come up. Chris Moneymaker, who played some great poker on this week’s Poker After Dark, is sitting with Fred Goldberg, eleventh plce finisher at this year’s World Series. Goldberg was compared on that broadcast to Moneymaker in appearance

– On the table that included Yosh Nakano and John Spadavecchia, two old schoolers, there were still two open chairs when I did my original rounds. They’ve since been filled by Erik Seidel and Bob Stupak.

– The Grinder and his brothers are amongst the players who are participating in a Player of the Year fantasy draft for 2007. Big brother Rbert had first pick and chose Michael, so come december you may see the Grinder playing against himself if his team runs well.

– The Gldstrike has provided an amazing player buffet for everyone’s comfort. I was in there on my lunch break with a friend when Phil Hellmuth, one of our late arrivals here, stormed in being chased by security. He apparently didn’t have a voucher, and while his name and face usually give him automatic access to such functions, the woman collecting the vouchers apparently isn’t much of a poker fan, because she put up the good fight. Phil eventually stepped over her and made the charge toewards the food; she gave up the fight.
