Nothing v Nothing: Klein v Jepson

Nov 15, 2012

Morten Klein has just showed the able that he has the nerve to hold his own in this competition.

As the clock ticks away towards the end of level 17 Peter Jepson raises from the cutoff, Klein three-bets to 23,000 from the big blind and Jepson calls. The flop is [Qd] [Th] [2c] , Klein checks, Jepson bets 20,000, Klein check-raises to 42,500 and Jepson calls. The [7s] is checked through on the turn and we arrive at the [6c] on the river. Klein checks and Jepson puts him all-in for a clean 100k. Klein exhales a deep blow of air and considers his options for three-minutes. Then as the break starts he makes the call.

"Do you have a Queen?" Asks Jepson.

Klein shakes his head and Jepson says, "I have nothing…well played."

Jepson turns over [Jc] [8c] for an absolute air ball, but amazingly Klein turns over [8d] [6d] for a lowly pair of sixes that got there on the river. Jepson couldn’t believe his eyes. We don’t think anyone at the table could. Klein was like a cat that got all of the milk and ate a rat for afters.

Klein ~ 350,000
Jepson ~ 250,000
