Hand #125: Ema Zajmovic raises to 500,000 on the button and Patrick Serda three-bets the big blind to 1,600,000.
Zajmovic thinks for a little and then four-bets to 3,800,000 total. Serda now deliberates over his options, and eventually decides to call to have the pot sitting at nearly 8 million in chips; roughly a quarter of the chips in play.
The dealer spreads a flop and both players knuckle through to see the on the turn.
Serda checks, and with two hands, Zajmovic slides out a bet for 3,000,000. Serda doesn’t hesitate too long before making the call as the river of the completes the board.
Serda taps the table to check the action over to Zajmovic, and after using a time extension chip, she announces she is all in for 8,500,000.
In return, Serda uses one of his time extension chips as he goes deep into the think-tank and then eventually uses another.
As his next 30 seconds is about to expire, Serda drops in a few chips to signify a call.
Zajmovic tables her for just king-high, while Serda tables his for just third pot.
The chips are checked, and with Serda having Zajmovic covered, she is eliminated in second place for a C$556,000 payday.
Patrick Serda is crowned the WPT Montreal Champion, earning himself the C$855,000 first-place prize and seat into the season-ending $15,000 buy-in WPT Tournament of Champions. Along with the coveted first-place prize money, Serda will have his name engraved on the WPT Champions Cup and will take home the Playground Poker Club Championship Belt.
