Phil Hellmuth and Maroun Jazzar are at it again.
Hellmuth raises to 9,000 from under the gun and Jazzar calls right behind him. It folds around to Scotty Nguyen in the big blind, who pauses to think.
"You got me covered Phil?," the clearly short-stacked Nguyen jokes to the clearly big-stacked Hellmuth. "I’ll fold, but only because you haev me covered baby."
Hellmuth and Jazzar go heads-up to a flop of [Qc8h5s] and both players check. The turn brings the [Qh] and Hellmuth bets 13,000. Jazzar quickly calls and the two see the river fall [Kh]. Hellmuth bets out 24,000 and Jazzar quickly raises to 50,000.
Hellmuth pauses momentarily before tossing in the call. "You have three queens," Hellmuth states moreso than asks.
Turns out Jazzar does not have three queens. He silently turns up [Ah3h] for a rivered flush.
Hellmuth inhales sharply, stands up and walks away from the table. He takes a minute, comes back to the table, sits down and proceeds to let Jazzar know he has more than a couple of complaints with Jazzar’s play.
Maroun Jazzar – 580,000
Phil Hellmuth – 480,000
