Ping Liu Leads Heading into Day 3; Loaded Field Behind Him

17 players from a field of 356 return to play down to the final table on Day 3 of the WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble. Leading the remaining players is Ping Liu (pictured) and his stack of 2.566 million. Liu is the only player over 2,000,000 chips but there is plenty of competition behind him looking to get their hands on the $341,486 first-place prize.

Liu is attempting to obtain his first World Poker Tour title and best his fourth-place result from Season XVI’s WPT Rolling Thunder event.

Second in chips is three-time WPT final tablist Jake Schwartz, who placed sixth at bestbet in Season XIV. Schwartz also placed ninth at bestbet in Season XV and is looking to eclipse his fourth-place run in the Season XIV WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic.

Right behind  Schwartz is Dominique Mosley. Mosley is based in Florida and six of his seven WPT cashes have come in his home state. A final table appearance would be a first for Mosley on the World Poker Tour.

Also in contention is WPT Champions Club member Harrison Gimbel, who leads the three remaining champions with 1.32 million. Gimbel’s win came in Season XIV at WPT Rolling Thunder and he is looking to make his first final table since the victory.

Another Champions Club member in the running is Season XIII Lucky Hearts Poker Open winner Brian Altman. Like Gimbel, Altman is in search of his second career WPT official final table.

Adam Ross starts the day with 1.006 million and a chance at another major title in the back half of 2018. Ross captured the WSOP Circuit Main Event title in Cherokee, NC in August for $295,970 and is making the most of his first World Poker Tour cash.

Other familiar faces with alive to make the final table are Kelly Minkin, Ray Qartomy, Justin Liberto, WSOP bracelet winner Michael Chow, Tim Burt, and Sam Panzica. Two-time Champions Club member Panzica is looking for an astonishing third consecutive final table at the WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble. He starts the day as the shortest stack but with only 11 players between him and one of the most impressive feats in recent WPT history.

Day 3 starts at 12 pm ET in Jacksonville at bestbet with the live stream final table coming up on Tuesday. Play is scheduled to run for as many 90-minute levels as it takes to reach the final table.
