Esther Taylor (pictured) is no stranger to the Borgata Poker Room. Perhaps better known as “E-Tay,” she has scored a good number of her 45 career tournament cashes ($775,622 career earnings) here in Atlantic City, including the largest of her career. She took fifth place at the final table in the WPT Borgata Winter Open two years ago and took home $174,118 in prize money.
She is off to a good start on Day 1A with a stack of 125,000 heading into the last two levels of play tonight. “I have a good table, and I’ve made a lot of hands. It’s easy when it’s like that,” said Taylor when she was asked about her day.
“I like the tournament structure and the turnout that it gets. With those two combinations I would probably never miss this tournament,” said Taylor when asked about why she really likes to play here at Borgata. She added these thoughts about what she likes outside the doors of the poker room inside this Four-Diamond property. “It’s just a nice hotel, the accommodations are nice. I also like how everybody knows each other and there’s a lot of friends around. Friends and fellowship, and we have a good time.”
