Pocket Aces Prove Vulnerable Early On

Oct 2, 2017

We just witnessed aces get cracked on two different tables in close succession.

In one instance Je Wook Oh (pictured just below) had his Spade ADiamond A beaten by an Ben Foster’s Club KDiamond 8 when the board brought two kings among the five community cards, knocking Oh back to a short stack.

Then it was D.J. Alexander (pictured below) using Spade 5Spade 3 to top Guy Smith’s Club ADiamond A. In that case the money — 92,800 chips’ worth — went in on a Spade 4Heart 3Heart 2 flop and Smith was still in front after the Heart Q turn. But the Club 6 river filled Alexander’s straight.

Down to a super-short stack, Smith was eliminated shortly thereafter.
