I didn’t play the first level. I couldn’t decide whether I was up for playing or not and finally bought in just before registration closed.

They put me at a table with Eli Elezra, Doyle Brunson and Mark Newhouse.

Right now I’m sitting with about 68,000 after a few hands I played with Eli and a good laydown on my part.

On the first hand I bet the whole way with the nut flush draw and as the dealer turned over the river I saw I made it before the card even hit the felt. I announced all in and Eli beat me into the pot with a smaller flush.

On another hand, Eli raised me on the turn after I flopped an Ace with AK. He bet big on the river and I made the call. I thought he may have had A-10 for two pair, but he mucked once he saw my cards.

On another hand, I raised in the small blind with two kings and got three callers. The flop came 10-9-3 and I bet out 3,000 and Mark Newhouse raised to 10,000. I really didn’t think he would do that unless he had pocket tens or nines so I mucked my overpair face up. He showed me tens and I saved myself some chips.

So I think I’m on top of my game right now and can make a deep run in this thing. We’ll see what happens.
