Quads against a straight flush are not something you see every day, especially not in a live tournament. Over on Table 59 this unlikely scenario just played out, as Doug Hartwick and Dean Murphy clashed in a huge pot.
The board showed [6s7s8s6d8c] when Hartwick’s [Ts9s] was still face up on the table.
"Great!" Murphy yelled across the room, "I just lost with quads to a straight flush!"
Murphy’s card were already in the muck when we arrived on the scene, but everyone at the table was still talking about how crazy this set up was. The players explained that all the chips went into the middle on the flop when a third player involved folded his [4d5d].
Murphy was left behind with just 5,000 chips while Hartwick is now the tournament chip leader with over 60,000.
