Rhynie Campbell Eliminated By Shaun Deeb

Feb 10, 2012

WPT Champions Club member Rhynie Campbell and Shaun Deeb go heads-up to a flop of [Qc10c10d].  Campbell is in the small blind and checks.  Deeb bets 1,250, then Campbell check raises to 2,700 total. Deeb calls.

The turn brings the [Jd] and Campbell bets 12,900, leaving behind just about 200 in green 25 chips that he is shuffling in his hand.  Deeb is puzzled as to why Campbell didn’t just move all-in and suggests with a smile that Campbell might be up to some sort of trick.

After a minute or two of thought, Deeb moves all-in and Campbell puts his last few chips in the pot.

"You’re probably ahead," Campbell says.  Deeb turns over [Jh8d] for two pair and a gutshot straight draw.  Campbell turns over [As10h] for trip tens.

"’You’re probably ahead?!’" Deeb says incredulously.

"Just need to fade a jack," Campbell tells the table.

Someone presciently points out that a nine would be a bad card for Campbell as well right as the dealer puts out the [9c] on the river.  Deeb takes the pot and Campbell is eliminated shortly before the dinner break.

Shaun Deeb – 95,000
