Remarkable as it may seem, chipleader Robert Kuhn has gotten pocket aces vs. pocket kings for a third time in the past two hours or so. Only this time, Kuhn flopped a set of aces, which allowed his opponent to get away from the hand.
Shortly after that, Kuhn is in a three-way pot with a flop of . The small blind checks, and Todd Rodgers bets 600 from the big blind. Kuhn calls from the button, and the small blind check-raises to 1,600. Rodgers reraises to 4,200, and Kuhn and the small blind both fold.
Kuhn shows his , his umpteenth premium hand so far today. (And they’re still in Level 3.) Somebody at the table jokes that he shouldn’t have played the pocket jacks because it was outside of his usual range.
Todd Rodgers – 40,000 (267 bb)
Robert Kuhn – 105,000 (700 bb)
Rodgers has an interesting story of his own, and works with a charity website for cancer survivors called SendMeOnVacation.org.
