Robert McLaughlin Takes a Hit and then Gets Some of It Back

Since the players combined to the final three tables (24 players left), the action has stalled a bit.

Robert McLaughlin raises from the cutoff to 70,000, and Andrew Hanna calls from the big blind. The flop comes Diamond 7Diamond 6Heart 2, Hanna checks, McLaughlin bets 85,000, and Hanna calls. The turn card is the Heart 8, Hanna bets 110,000, and McLaughlin calls.

The river card is the Spade 3, and both players check. Hanna quickly shows Diamond JDiamond 3 for a pair of threes, and McLaughlin’s expression looks like he was rivered. After a moment, Hanna says he’s waiting to see if he won or not, and McLaughlin smiles and teases him briefly before mucking his cards. Hanna wins the pot.

The next hand, Sam Taylor raises under the gun to 70,000, and Robert McLaughlin moves all in from the hijack for 685,000. Veerab Zakarian uses one of his Time Chips to tank for a while in the big blind before he folds, and then Taylor quickly folds behind. McLaughlin takes the pot.
